This month, the Abdullah Gül University had the pleasure of hosting the “Guinean Cultural Day”, organized by the Association Of Guinean Students In Turkey (ASSEGTUR) and the Kayseri Guinean Association (UGK).
The event, which centered on the French-speaking West African country of Guinea (Capital city: Conakry), welcomed around 200 participants to the Rectorate Conference Hall on the Abdullah Gül University campus. Guests included international and Turkish students from Erciyes University in Kayseri, from other parts of Turkey, as well as guests of honour such as business men from Guinea as well as the Former Ambassador of Turkey to Guinea.
The program of the day included conferences held by the CEO of hadafo Medias and the Former Ambassador of Turkey to Guinea, as well as welcome speech by Mr. Emeric Abrignani, Head of the International Office of the Abdullah Gül University.
The audience was then entertained with presentations of Guinea, as well as performances such as poetry readings, Turkish and African songs, a theater play, modern and traditional dances, followed by a fashion display.
After the performances, participants were invited to discover Guinea further thanks to a photo exposition set up outside of the Conference Hall.
The event was a pleasant occasion, full of colors and exciting performances. We look forward to welcoming our Guinean guests on our campus again!
